Ingredients

  • 1/4 pumpkin

  • 2 carrots

  • 2 red apples

  • 1 ginger piece 2cm

  • 1/2 lemon

  • ground cinnamon (for dusting)

    Juicing Time:  3 mins

    Juice Qty:  800ml

Tip: If pumpkin has a shiny skin it means it isn’t ripe. Look for one with a matte and slightly dull appearance.

Preparation

Pumpkin (1 min)

  • Cut into thick slices

  • Remove green skin

  • Dice into large chucks

Carrots (10 sec)

  • Cut carrots lengthwise once

  • If larger carrots are used cut again lengthwise into quarters

Apple (15 sec)

  • Remove the stems and remove any stickers

  • Juice apples whole with skin and seeds.

  • Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute.

Lemon (30 sec)

  • Remove stickers and cut off any hard end points

  • Slice lemons into rounds with skin on to give more flavour and get more juice from each lemon.

Ginger (15 sec)

  • Cut off a 2cm thick piece

  • Cut into thin slices leaving the skin on

Method

Start with the carrots. Add them to the chute one half at a time.

Next add the pumpkin chunks one at a time. You need to go slow here as the pumpkin is very fibrous and builds up quickly inside the machine if you go to fast.

Next add the ginger pieces followed by the two apples either whole or cut if too large to fit into the wide chute.

Finish making the juice with the lemon slices.

After pouring into a large glass dust the top of the juice with ground cinnamon and enjoy.
