WHAT IS BETA-CAROTENE?

Beta-carotene is a red/orange pigment found in many fresh fruits and vegetables. First discovered in carrots in 1836, it is a precursor for Vitamin A so is a natural way to get this essential vitamin in the doses required. We need vitamin A for healthy skin and mucus membranes, our immune system, and good eye health and vision.

Beta-carotene, a carotenoid, is also an antioxidant. Antioxidants through diet help people's immune systems, protect against free radicals, and lower the risk of developing cancer and heart disease.
