Make Ruby Red Breakfast Juice

Winter is citrus season—and ruby red grapefruits are stealing the show! This vibrant breakfast juice is bursting with vitamin C, natural sweetness, and a refreshing citrus tang.

Ruby Red Grapefruits are perfect during winter for juicing with a powerhouse of healthy nutrients. I like Ruby Reds however you can choose red or yellow grapefruits for this recipe.

I love the flavour of the ruby red grapefruits in juice. They have the perfect sweet bitterness and when combined with the apples and oranges create a very drinkable tangy, citrus juice flavour.

Ruby Red Breakfast Juice

Description

We are starting to see a lot of fresh grapefruits in the markets at the moment. They are perfect during winter for juicing with a powerhouse of healthy nutrients. I like Ruby Reds however you can choose red or yellow grapefruits for this recipe.

I love the flavour of the ruby red grapefruits in juice. They have the perfect sweet bitterness and when combined with the apples and oranges create a very drinkable tangy, citrus juice flavour.

Ingredients

  • 2 ruby red grapefruits

  • 2 apples

  • 3 oranges

  • 1 ginger piece (2cm)

Juicing Time: 5 mins
Juice Qty: 750ml
Serves: 3

Preparation

Grapefruit

  • Remove the outer skin keeping as much white pith as possible

  • Cut into halves or quarters to fit into the wide chute

Apples

  • Remove the stems and remove any stickers

  • Juice apples whole with skin and seeds

  • Cut in half or quarters if too big to fit into the wide chute

Oranges

  • Remove the orange skin leaving as much white pith as possible

  • Juice whole or cut in half if too big to fit into the wide chute

Ginger

  • Cut off a 2cm thick piece

Cut into thin slices leaving the skin on

Method

This juice is super simple to make.

Add any of the pieces of fruit one at a time to the juice and let the press squeeze each piece fully before adding the next piece.

I like to pop the ginger in about half way to allow the rest of the fruits to pick up more of the ginger flavour as they press through the juice machine.

Tip: Externally, fresh grapefruit is a natural antiseptic and can be used to help disinfect and heal wounds and abrasions.
