Sweet Capsicum Juice

Description

You know what they say, if it’s brown, drink it down!

Well, something like that anyway 😊

You see whenever you combine red and green ingredients in a juice recipe chances are it will look less than appealing but don’t let the ‘brown-ness’ stop you from enjoying the refreshing taste of this juice.

It makes a great dinner juice recipe if you are replacing a meal a day or doing a juice cleanse.

Taste

A really refreshing juice that is sweet, peppery and spicy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cucumbers

  • 1 cilantro, handful

  • 1 capsicum, red

  • 1/2 pineapple

  • 1 lime

  • 1 chili, long red (opt)

    Juicing Time: 4 mins
    Juice Qty: 900 ml
    Serves: 4

Preparation

Capsicum

  • Remove the green stems

  • Cut into halves or quarters to fit in the wide chute

  • Remove excess seeds (you can juice them)

Pineapple

  • Slice off the outer skin

  • Cut into long thin strips to fit down the chute

  • Chop the core into small chunks

Cucumber

  • Cut into chunks to fit down the chute

  • Juice with skin on

Cilantro

  • Roughly chop leaves and stems

  • Juice handfuls at a time

Lime

  • Thinly slice off the outer skin

  • Juice whole

Chili

  • Cut off the stalk end

  • Cut in half lengthways and remove the seeds if you don’t want it too hot, otherwise leave them in and juice whole

Method

Start making this juice with the cilantro. Add the entire handful to the juicer and if need be push down onto the press with the pusher.

Next, add the cucumber pieces one at a time.

Juice the capsicum next adding a half or quarter to the chute and letting the press push through before adding more.

Next, add the whole chili pepper if using, and the whole lime.

Add the pineapple strips next one by one leaving the chopped pineapple core at the end.

 

Tip: if you don’t like cilantro you can sub it for parsley or leave our completely
